How were skyscrapers, teslas, and tiny homes made? ENGINEERS!! What is an engineer you ask? Well, forget the dictionary definition. Engineers are dreamers, planners, problem solvers, and tinkerers.
Over the course of our time together, your child will take on projects and hands-on challenges, in hopes of finding success. Every theme will begin with making a plan, then move on to the building & trials phase, and finally end with a final test. From egg drops and Rube Goldberg machines to earthquake simulators and tower challenges, there will be much to get excited about.

How do detectives and investigators use science to solve a mystery? We will spend this program understanding forensic science and learning the tricks of the spy trade. We'll investigate fingerprints, spying techniques (surveillance), secret codes, invisible ink, and other sneaky science!

Who doesn't LOVE slime?! It's easy to make and is guaranteed to be FUN! Some are magnetic, some are inspired by famous wizarding books. Others are glittery or glow in the dark. It doesn't matter how we make it, it's the fun that comes in figuring it out. Our slime program is designed to see just how many ways and kinds of slime we can create. We'll discuss what an activator is and why no slime is complete without it. And, we will learn how different ingredients will change the outcome, texture and use of slime. Slime is awesome, but learning why it works is pretty cool too!

Let’s have fun with Chemistry! In this program, we will create “magic” potions and exciting chemical reactions that will blow your mind. Erupt a volcano, make indoor snow, grow crystals, blast a rocket into the air, and more. We will learn about the states of matter and how things change with mixtures, solutions and chemical reactions. Join us to channel your inner Professor Snape!

Age 6-9. Software: Roblox Studio Skill Level: Beg. Description: In this course, students will learn how to use coding fundamentals to strategically engineer an immersive, imaginative cosmos for one of the fastest-growing gaming platforms in the world. Roblox, Imaginative Game Design provides students with hands-on experiences in innovation and the underlying mechanics of 3D gaming. This is the perfect course for any student looking to advance their skills in science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics (STEAM). Ages 6-12. Learn chess with Magnus Chess Academy (formerly Silver Knights)! They have taught 100,000 children to play, including state & national champions, but most students are beginners looking to learn a new skill and have fun. Class time is divided between lessons and practice games. Lessons range from the basic rules to advanced tournament strategies. Students will have the opportunity to play in tournaments. All chess supplies provided. All skill levels are welcome.

Ages 6-9. Software: Lego Education WeDo Skill Level: Beg. Powered by the LEGO® Education WeDo Base Set and Software, our Jr. Lego Robotics class combines the exciting world of Lego with programming to manipulate and program your own personal robots. This class is tailored to younger children who want to learn the basics of visual programming. Students create commands for their robots to follow by using an application with a drag-and-drop interface that is visually simple to use, but capable of complex instructions. Students learn the importance of teamwork by working together with a partner in order to accomplish the build assignment for the day.

Ages 13-17. The Chick Armstrong fitness program for teens is a eight-week two session program that meets twice a week Mondays and Wednesdays 6:00 pm-7:00 pm. The program is designed to teach our teens the proper use of fitness equipment, exercise techniques, safety, and discussions in maintaining a productive and healthy Lifestyle. The maximum enrollment for this program will be 6 participants per session.

Ages 5-9. Earn, save, spend, donate! Through math games and hands-on activities kids learn about these and other key financial concepts like money, budgeting and saving. Students will also learn the basic concepts of philanthropy and donating to charity. And, everyone will make their very own piggy bank to take home!

Ages 6-9, 10-14. In this class, students will learn how to create their own custom gameplay items and elements using MCreator and Minecraft. Students will learn how to create artwork for various items, and implement them into the game with custom behaviors. Design your own custom blocks, tools, swords, bows, food, biomes and more! Does your child spend hours at a time playing Minecraft? Have them learn how to improve their gameplay experience, and create your own custom mods to take home today!

Ages 6-9. Using a custom mod called Computercraft, students will learn how to program robots called Turtles inside the world of Minecraft. Kids will utilize problem-solving skills by learning how to program their robots to complete various tasks and objectives such as programming their turtles to automatically build, mine, and craft items and structures. They will be introduced to programming if-then-else statements, for-while loops, and implement their own functions using Lua, a simple scripting language. Ages 5-12. Students will participate in an ensemble music group. Students will learn about the instruments as well as how to play in a music group. Rental Instruments and Music Included. Students will take instruments and music home in between classes to enjoy. A rental agreement must be signed and instruments must be returned in same condition at the last scheduled class date. Parents will be responsible for the return cost and/or replacement of any unreturned/damaged instruments.

Ages 2-5 Our youngest musicians will participate in guided musical exploration and age appropriate theory as well as musical games, special extension curriculum based activities, musical listening excerpts, and more!
