Ages 11-18. The ultimate gathering for nature enthusiasts! Teens will enjoy a variety of outdoor activities and discussions on sustainability, environmental justice, and green careers. There will also be opportunities to connect with the community, network with guest speakers, and make an impact through citizen science.

All Ages. Have you ever wondered why owls hunt at night or why bats are not seen during the day? Join us as we learn all about Virginia's nocturnal wildlife! We will meet some of our nocturnal animal ambassadors and go on a hike through Dora Kelley Nature Park in search of these animals of the night.

Ages 3-5 with adult. Explore the natural world and Dora Kelley Nature Park with an environmental educator as we search for animal homes and signs of fall. We will play games, make crafts, and go for a forest walk (weather permitting). Fee covers cost of all three sessions. Drop in available for individual sessions.

Ages 5-11. Birds need a holiday too! Make biodegradable bird feeders and garlands to decorate a backyard tree for our feathered friends. All materials included.

Ages 2-4 with adult. You're invited to join our educator led nature play dates! Children will explore nature through hands-on activities both in and outdoors (weather permitting). Activities will vary each month and may include both structured and unstructured play. Participants are encouraged to sign up for each session! Drop ins welcome.

All ages. Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month with butterflies! Learn about how the conservation of monarch butterflies brings together Mexico and the United States. Participants will take part in community science projects to help the species, learn their natural history and unique needs, and discover how to participate in tagging butterflies. Attendees will also receive a special monarch care package.

Get ready for spooky season by meeting live spiders up close and personal! In a non-scary environment, learn about how these eight-legged animals experience the world and survive. After their spider meet-and-greet, participants will enjoy activities and a craft.

All ages. Join us for a walk in the Dora Kelley Nature Park and practice spotting the difference between native and invasive plants. Learn how you can help protect native plants. Adults and families welcome.
